On the 15th we headed to Utah for Asher's surgery that he was having the next day. He also had an appointment with dermatology the 15th for a check-up for his foot and back. That doctor said that his foot look good, and that we just might want to consider having him see an orthopedic doctor to make sure the bones were growing how they should at some point. And she also said that sometime in the next 6 months to year, she wants him to have an MRI of his back just to make really sure that he doesn't have nerves attached to the thing on his back. What they are worried about is that if there is a nerve attached, as he grows it will get stretched and cause damage. But it doesn't have to be done right now. As for his actual surgery day, we had to be at the hospital at 10:30am and his surgery was supposed to start at noon, but because his doctor got a late start he didn't make it into surgery until almost 2:00pm. He was not a happy camper towards the end. He was hungry and tired. We did finally get him to take a small nap a little before 1:00 and he slept until just before they came to get him. It was so hard to let them take my baby especially since they let us walk down the hallway with him and then they tell you to say goodbye and take him from you to the OR, in our case screaming because he wanted his mom and dad. That was so hard on me. I don't like my baby to cry. But after he went into surgery, we went down and got some lunch. Then it was back up to the waiting room until his surgery was over. When he was out, at about 4:00pm, they called into waiting room and told us that one of us could come back now, and the other could come back a little later. Jason was so nice and knew how worried I was, so he told me to go back first and he would wait. I don't think I will ever forget how Asher looked when I went back. He looked so small laying on the hospital bed, and all he had on was his diaper. He had this look on his face like he wasn't really home. He looked kind of sad almost. When I got to his bed he started to cry, and reached for me. I grabbed him and as soon as his head hit my shoulder he stopped and fell back asleep. I held him like that, with his feet on bed until we moved to other room where Jason could come back too. We were there until about 7:30pm because Asher didn't want to wake up and while he was sleeping his O2 would drop down. But the surgery went great, and I'm SO glad it's over.

Before his surgery
They had so many toys in the "waiting" room before surgery. This is out in the hall where they had lots of these trucks, and some wagons
Asher and Dad playing. They also had a vacuum that Asher LOVED
I didn't take a whole lot of pictures, because I was little pre-occupied. But here he is after surgery while waiting for Dad to get us some KFC (and mashed potatoes)
I love you so much sweetie, and I'm so glad you are done with your surgery safe and sound.
