The end of May we went to Maui with Jason's family. It was so fun and pretty and warm. And I can honestly say that we (Jason and I) went to the beach every day! Asher did miss out one day, when we just quickly ran down for a walk at sunset and left him with G-ma and G-pa. Anyways, without further adieu, here are (A LOT of) our pictures!
Our first day, just a few hours after our plane landed
Playing in the sand
Jason dug a hole for Ash to sit in
Then tried to bury him without Asher knowing it
One of the other Islands you could see from the beach
My boys!
He liked just sitting on the beach blanket
This is the view from our first room. No zoom used
Taking a nap while....
Asher took his
A beautiful State Park we went to
At the park
This is called the Iao Needle.
After we got to the top Asher decided he needed a drink...
and a rest. Even though he was carried up.
The steep stairs we had to climb to look at the Iao Needle
Jason said they needed a fort here
Look at my awesome hubby carrying the backpack and Asher! All I had to carry was the camera!
Piggy back ride!
There were rivers everywhere, so pretty
And little waterfalls
My handsome boy who wouldn't look at me for the picture
Ash and Daddy
B-E-A-U-T-I-F-U-L
This time I'm the one who's not looking
There were so many varieties of plants and well over half had some kind of pretty flower
Just catching up on some reading while we were driving back
At the aquarium
The fish were SO colorful!
Asher and the fish
Trying to see the fish
Dad and Ash
On Thursday we packed up and moved to another time share about 20 min away. Asher was driving while we were waiting for everyone to get packed up
He LOVES to "drive" and just play around in the car
Our Jeep we rented
This is on the way to the new place (Asher is asleep in the car)
We went to this beach while we were waiting to check into the new place. Jason boogie boarding
Just watching the waves
I Love his face! He was eating whales and doritos, and was so sandy it wasn't even funny, so someone else had to get them out of the bag for him. He didn't like having to wait for some one else! (His face is so sandy because he does this "uh oh" face all the time when he sees or does something that isn't quite right, by putting his hand over his face. So he would be shoveling sand and some would go flying, so then he would do the "uh oh" face and get sand everywhere.)
Shopping in Lahaina
This is a really cool tree
There was a HUGE base that kids could crawl all over, and parts of the tree were actually smooth to the point it looked fake from people climbing on it
Peek-a-boo
He loved it when other kids came to play too!
Sitting in the tree
Jason was helping him walk on the tree
That is all the SAME TREE! It is all connected, and takes up about a squared block! It was so cool!
Jason's mom came shopping with us while everyone else went snorkleing
In front of the Lahaina Courthouse
The sand on this beach was so weird! It was actual little rocks. Very sticky little rocks
See?! I had to SCRAPE them out of his hair in the tub. And even then didn't get it all!
Cute little lizard at our second place
On Friday night we went to a luau, courtesy of Brenda and Dale. It was so awesome and was defiantly one of the best parts of the trip!
Asher before the show started
Playing with his aunts and uncles
The necklaces they gave us at the Luau
Asher ate the best at the luau, of the whole trip! He had pig, and rice, and about 6 of these fruit punch drinks. I seriously could hardly get a drink of my own. But they were GOOD!
Part of the show! The dancers were all AMAZING!
It was kind of hard to get good pictures though
This was the host
And the "Princess"
This is the second of the only two pictures I got of our family the whole time. Sad I know :(
This is the view from the second room, again no zoom was used.
Of course we had to eat at McDonalds a couple of time while we were there
We found this little park by the beach and decided to Asher, but as you can see by the bouncy house in the background, there was a birthday party going on. But they were very nice and even tried to get Asher to join in on the pinata fun!
Whenever he would see kids running, he would too, but then he would get lost and not know where everyone was going!
Ya, that's gonna hurt
He loves swinging
At the beach on out last day
Following Dad
Asher and Jason's footprints
Scenic lookout
This is a little park we found to play at and get out all our "wiggles" before our plane left
Slide
The waves the day we left were the biggest we'd seen
I love this sign! It sounds like a movie title or something. I think it was on top of a church
Some other things about our trip. The food was so good! I don't think I had anything that wasn't good! The sunsets were so pretty, we all went down one night but I forgot my camera. Jason said that we would just go down another night, but somehow we never did. I was really surprised at how much certain places on the Island (the inner part) reminded me of Idaho, specifically Birch Creek. With just miles of fields that ended at the base of a mountain. The only difference was the fields were full of Sugar Cane instead of sage brush! The weather was awesome, and I was never really too hot, or too cold, even though the winds picked up every afternoon, it wasn't really a cold, or even a warm wind. It was just wind. Asher did pretty good on the plane/car rides, (we did a lot of traveling back and forth) even though he did get a little grumpy, and was very ready by the end of the week to be home. Over all it was a really fun vacation, and it was great to get to spend some time together. I think we will defiantly be going back some day!
