Birch Creek (Take 2)

In August we went to Birch Creek again. After the fiasco of last time we went, we weren't really sure that we wanted to go again. But we decided to go anyways, and I'm really glad we did. This time things went right and we had way more fun than the time before. We headed up on Thursday, and then Friday night Jason's parents and his sister and her hubby came up. Mindy and Colton only stayed until Saturday afternoon, because they had a reunion to go to. But we had lots of fun.

Watching a movie while I make dinner the first night
Look at that dirty face! He had lots of fun playing in the dirt
(Also notice the spot on his chin? We were out at my parent house, and Asher was running around their couch with our niece Sereniti. All of the sudden Sereniti came running in to us and he was on the floor crying. He had tripped over something, so I went in to see how he was and he was bleeding. We could never find anything anywhere around that he had hit, but he had a puncture on his chin that wasn't very wide but went all the way through. We could see his bone. But we still have no idea what did it!)
Playing in the water. Dad was "too cool" to get in :)
He would walk from where we were in last picture to this spot where he would get out and run back up to the other spot to get back in and do it again.
He loved throwing rocks in the water, and using sticks to splash in the water
 Splashin'
He made me go over to play in the dirt with him
Then he took both of his hands and put them on his face, resulting in his "war paint"
Doesn't everyone cross their feet when they play in the dirt?
(He was copying me)
 Playing catch with G-ma
Everyone who was there, minus the dogs.
Saturday we took Jason's parents to Meadow Lake and had lunch. It was so cold up here though, especially with the wind. We didn't last long, but did get a picture with our little family before leaving
Beautiful sunset.
On a side note Jason and Colton went for a ride right after Mindy and Colton got there. Then during dinner, Colton comes back by himself saying Jason's bike broke down. He had to take our truck back to get him. Needless to say, Jason wasn't the happiest, and it took over a month for it to finally get fixed. But he's back up and running now, just in time for the snow! (He did get to go once before it got too cold, and they might try to go one more time!)

Rigby Lake

Of course we had to go to Rigby Lake at least once this year. Asher always has lots of fun playing in the sand and water, and with his cousins! Thanks for inviting us Julie we had lots of fun!

 My little stud!

After I had to change his diaper, he didn't want he shorts back on, but did want his shoes on (the sand was hot!) After a while he finally let me put his shorts back on
We stopped at Wendy's and got us some lunch
Playing in the sand (and eating some)
I put his shirt back on because it looked like it was going to start raining and I thought we were going to have to leave, but I think we ended up staying another hour or two
He thought this was the coolest thing ever! Some big kids had brought shovels and made this little pond, then left. He was in HEAVEN!
He played in it by himself for probably a half and hour, then kept trying to get Charlee to play in it with him too, but Charlee had a friend with her so she didn't stay long with Asher

We had such a fun time, and hopefully next year we'll end up going more!

Some Summertime Fun!

I am so far behind it isn't even funny. I kept waiting because Jason has some pictures on his phone that I want to get off, but I can no longer wait. so here is a brief post on some of what we did over the summer.

He fell asleep, "helping" Daddy one day down in his office.
Playing "forts" on Mom and Dad's bed, with all the pillows

We played at the park a lot, and had lots of fun going on bike rides

This is how he "adjusts" it, you know, to make it go faster!

This is at a park in Jackson Hole. We went for a drive one Sunday, and of course had to play at the park for a while before going home
This was his favorite thing there. The handles were broken but he still sat on it forever, and didn't want to leave!

And of course the swings, are always a favorite
And took lots of naps with Tigger

MRI

Back in July, on the 21, Asher had an MRI of his back they wanted to check it again, even though they did an ultrasound of it when he was first born, they said that they needed to do an MRI now that he was bigger. Just to make sure that there wasn't any nerves or anything caught up in it that would start getting pulled as he gets taller. We had to be at the hospital at like 6:30 in the morning to get all checked in, and they took him down for his MRI at 8:30.

Watching some TV while we wait
His blue teddy bear that the nurse gave him. He now has a red one and a blue (both from EIRMC, the red one he got last year when he went for his cardiology appt.)
Watching TV with Dad and his teddy. When they finally took him down, they let us go down with him to say "good-bye" and I even got to ride on the bed so that Asher would too! They put him completely under for the procedure, but before we left to go down they gave him something to make him drowsy, (to make putting an IV and getting him hooked up easier) and by the time we got down to the room, he could hardly keep his head up. He was really funny to watch because he was trying so hard to stay awake, but everything was working against him! After they took him, Jason and I went and got some breakfast, and then headed back to the waiting room until they came and got us. Then we just had to wait until he woke up, and we could take him home.
We spent the rest of they just chillin' at home. They told us to keep a close eye on him because he would still be kind of groggy for the rest of the day, so we didn't do anything to exciting.
 Dad took a nap...
And I played with Ash. So glad that it's over, and results were good, we had to wait like two week after the actual appointment to get the full results back, but they said there wasn't any problems with the hemiangioma being connected to anything.  They did find that his kidneys sit weird (kind of like his heart does, more on the right side of  his body and tipped to right) but Urology said that as long as they aren't causing him any problems (i.e. having trouble going to the bathroom) there is no need to do anything about them. Poor kid, all his inner-eds are messed up. But we were just so glad to have it be pretty good news, and have nothing that needing fixed! On a side note, he was such a good boy the whole time, and I am so proud of him and how well he did, and does with all his doctor appointments.

~TigGEr~

I had to do a special post about Asher's special friend, Tigger. (This is the same Tigger that Jason bought for him right after he was born and stayed with him in the NICU the whole time he was there. If I get up to it later I may go down and get my hard-drive and put on a picture of Asher and Tigger in the hospital) He loves his Tigger, and sleeps with him every night/nap-time. When he wakes up, he will even find Tigger in all the blankets, and bring Tigger with him when he comes out to find me. He will also, sometimes, go find him when he's tired.
Just after he woke up one morning
It was really hot that night, so he just slept in his diaper
This is how he carries him around...by the neck
Tigger is also a great help when you need to mow the lawn. It does tend to make him kind of dirty though.....especially when he keeps falling off the mower. He's a dirty Tigger most of the time, but a well loved one!
